May 21 – September 6
Sculpture Garden, Leonard Wübbena, Wittmund, Germany
The 2020 summer exhibition refers to the title of Barnett Newman’s Who`s afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue. This statement challenges the relationship between sculptures and paintings. Newman assumes that a sculpture is three-dimensional, expansive and creative and has little to do with color. Painting is two-dimensional and actually unthinkable without color. Is a sculptor afraid of color? The material-related surface of a sculpture emphasizes its spatiality. Does color disturb the shape? The exhibition is intended to illustrate the field of tension between pure and colored sculptures by way of interesting examples.
I participate with one new sculpture.
