January 6 – February 8, 2024 | Retrospective solo exhibition in the Elckerlyc in Hilvarenbeek

The exhibition shows a selection of my models for sculptures on the first floor. To complete the artistic overview, two-dimensional work has also been selected that reflects my spatial work, or is inspired by it: i.e. graphics and paintings. And in the downstairs gallery of the Elckerlyc you can view a selection of my watercolours that I have made during the last few years.

From Saturday July 29 untill the bend of September 2, hikers can view an outdoor exhibition of my watercolours on the Wellenseind estate in Lage Mierde. It concerns 14 works that are weather-resistant etched on plates. A walking route has been set out that leads past the works of art. The large-format panels are placed on the spots where the watercolours were made. Some of these works were made during the summer months during the corona period, but there are also some recent works on display. The map of the route with the locations is available at the visitor center Voor Anker . The book Brabantse Heerlijkheden can also be purchased (€ 22.50), as well as boxes with postcards (€ 9.99).

Watercolours have sizes 48×36 and 40×30 cm; they are for sale for a fixed price of 200 euros, without frame with the artist.

May 3 – October 2 | Park Lingezegen | Elst

Participation in the art project The Colorfield Performance.

This art project will take place from May 3rd to October 2nd in Park Lingezegen, Elst, Gelderland Province, the Netherlands. As a ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’, this project enjoys great public interest; last year 68,000 visitors came along. The Colorfield Performance manifests itself as a large colorfield and forms a temporary marker in a special landscape. The project will gradually consist of 500 paintings made by about 470 visual artists from 25 different countries. The arrangement of the panels forms a gigantic ellipse of 144 x 55 meters. The participants will have to make a painting on the spot in one day.

The golf course is already for a long time organising art exhibitions on its terrain. In 2008 the members have chosen to purchase a sculpture from me (Tulips for Ever), that still is standing on the course. I am now participating with a sculpture called: No Fear for Red Yellow Blue. On October 1, 2023 the organisation has purchased this last sculpture and also my sculpture the Iron Man.

Art in the Clock Building

Art Eindhoven took place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February 2023 in the Klokgebouw in Eindhoven. The Klokgebouw is an old Philips factory that exudes the atmosphere of yesteryear. The industrial and nostalgic environment offers Art Eindhoven a suitable backdrop.

As one of ten artists, my graphic work has been nominated for the Dutch Graphic Art Award. My work was rated above average by Jakunst.

From November 2022, all art on the Tilburg University campus has been documented and placed on the website. Since 1992, a sculpture from me has been standing on the extreme south side of the campus, adjacent to the terrace of the mensa of the Cobbenhagen building. At the time, I was an employee of the university and I signed for the winning design as a result of a competition on the occasion of the institution’s 65th anniversary. The title is related to the discussion about meaning and identity that was being held at the university during those years.

September 2022 – September 2023

From September 2022, the Biblical Museum and Buitenplaats Doornburgh in The Netherlands are organizing an exhibition with the title Exodus, on the way to liberation. It deals with themes such as fleeing, slavery and liberation.

For the time being, 60 works will be selected for the digital exhibition on the website of the Biblical Museum. My participation is with the spatial work: Beyond The Border.
