It was an initiative in 2024 by architect Pieter Keeris (Eersel) to place a work of art as a landmark at each of two identical entrances to a newly built apartment complex. As an experiment, the proposal was presented to the construction company Gebr. van Gisbergen, who asked me to select two watercolours for the entrances of the Hilverhorst building at the Roodloop in Hilvarenbeek. Because the identical entrances face the village side and the nature side respectively, a watercolour of the village centre (Vrijthof) and of the surrounding countryside (Groot Loo) were chosen.
On May 7, 2026, the highest point was reached and, true to tradition, the flag was hoisted. I have been asked to unveil the two works. These will be hung behind glass at the entrances, four times larger.
